Our clinical standards, training, and reporting are the same in every state we serve. Here’s what that consistency looks like in practice.
Intentionally Low Caseloads
We cap BCBA-to-client ratios so every child receives the focused clinical oversight and individualized attention that drives meaningful progress.
Center and In-Home Flexibility
Choose center-based therapy in Suffolk or Greensboro, in-home sessions across all three states, or a combination that fits your family’s routine.
Transparent Progress Reporting
Regular data reviews and parent conferences keep you informed about every milestone, so you always know where your child stands and what comes next.
Flexible Care Settings to Fit Your Family
Not every child thrives in the same setting, and we believe families should have a choice. Our Suffolk and Greensboro centers feature purpose-built rooms for structured learning, sensory play areas, socialization spaces, and quiet zones. All three locations offer in-home therapy, bringing qualified RBTs and supervising BCBAs directly to your doorstep.
For families in New Jersey, in-home is our primary service model, allowing children to practice skills in the environment where they live, play, and grow. Regardless of setting, every session follows the same evidence-based protocols and is supervised by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst.
Center-Based Therapy
Structured clinical environments in Suffolk and Greensboro with specialized equipment, peer interaction, and dedicated therapy rooms.
In-Home Therapy
Available at all three locations. Skilled therapists come to your home, teaching skills where your child lives, plays, and interacts with family.

Questions Families Ask About Our Locations
Choosing a therapy provider is a big decision. Here are answers to the questions families ask most often about our locations, service areas, and how we deliver care.
CareWorks currently operates in three states: Suffolk, Virginia (serving the Hampton Roads region), Greensboro, North Carolina (serving the Piedmont Triad), and New Jersey (serving families statewide). Suffolk and Greensboro offer both center-based and in-home services, while New Jersey provides in-home therapy exclusively.
Yes, all three locations offer in-home services. Our in-home program brings qualified RBTs and supervising BCBAs directly to your home, where your child can practice skills in the environment they know best. In New Jersey, in-home is the primary service model. Availability depends on therapist capacity and your specific location relative to our teams. Contact us to confirm service coverage at your address.
Our in-home therapists typically serve families within a 30-mile radius of each center location. The exact service range depends on therapist availability and scheduling logistics. In some cases, we may be able to extend beyond the typical range. We encourage you to reach out to our team to discuss your specific location and we’ll let you know what’s possible.
CareWorks offers telehealth for parent training sessions, BCBA consultations, and certain caregiver coaching components of treatment. While direct therapy with your child is most effective in person, telehealth allows us to provide real-time support and training to parents and caregivers without requiring an additional trip. Telehealth availability and insurance coverage vary by state and plan.
CareWorks is actively exploring expansion opportunities along the East Coast to bring quality autism treatment to more families. While we cannot share specific timelines for new openings, our growth is driven by community demand and our commitment to maintaining clinical excellence at every location. Follow us on social media or join our mailing list to be the first to hear about new announcements.
Absolutely. Because CareWorks uses standardized clinical protocols and centralized data systems across all locations, transferring is seamless. If your family relocates within our service area, your child’s supervising BCBA coordinates directly with the receiving location’s clinical team to ensure continuity of care, treatment goals, and therapeutic strategies. There is no need to restart assessments or rebuild plans from scratch. Contact your current location’s clinical director to initiate a transfer.
In North Carolina, state-regulated private insurance is mandated to cover ABA therapy up to $40,000 annually for children through age 18. NC Medicaid provides even broader coverage for those under 21, funding all medically necessary treatment without a fixed dollar cap. However, self-funded (ERISA) plans are exempt from state mandates and vary by employer. To secure coverage, you typically need a formal ASD diagnosis and a physician’s referral.
