Center-Based ABA
Structured treatment in a purpose-built environment with peer interaction, routines, and direct BCBA oversight.
Explore center-based careCareWorks ABA brings comprehensive, evidence-based therapy to families across Greensboro and the Piedmont Triad. Our dedicated team of Board Certified Behavior Analysts creates individualized treatment programs designed to unlock your child’s full potential in the community where you live.
North Carolina identifies autism earlier than almost any other state, with a median diagnosis age of 36 months compared to the national median of 47. But early identification only matters if families can actually access treatment. With approximately 1,950 BCBAs statewide, well below the national median, many Piedmont Triad families face long waits for a qualified provider. CareWorks ABA chose Greensboro intentionally to close that gap.
Our center serves families from High Point, Winston-Salem, Burlington, Thomasville, and communities across Guilford, Forsyth, Randolph, and Alamance counties. Whether your child benefits most from the structured social environment of our center or the comfort of their own home, we offer both center-based and in-home ABA therapy to fit your family’s goals.
Filling a Critical Gap in NC
With ASD rates of approximately 1 in 39 children in North Carolina and a BCBA workforce below the national median, access to qualified providers is a real challenge. Our Greensboro team is here to change that.
Intentionally Low Caseloads
We cap BCBA-to-client ratios so every child receives the focused clinical oversight and individualized attention that drives meaningful progress.
Center & In-Home Flexibility
Choose our purpose-built Greensboro center, in-home sessions across the Piedmont Triad, or combine both settings for a comprehensive treatment approach.

Explore parent trainingNorth Carolina often identifies autism earlier than most states, but identification does not guarantee access when qualified clinicians are in short supply. Our center was built to close that gap with BCBA-led care that starts quickly and stays coordinated across home, clinic, and school.
Our BCBAs routinely collaborate with teams serving Guilford County Schools and neighboring districts so goals remain consistent from classroom to therapy session. Because the region is geographically spread out, we also design plans around real drive times and family schedules, combining center-based and in-home services under one coordinated treatment plan.
North Carolina’s autism insurance law requires private insurers to cover ABA. A 2021 expansion broadened coverage to adults. NC Medicaid covers medically necessary ABA for individuals under 21 through EPSDT, with no fixed dollar cap. We’re in-network with most major plans and manage every authorization start to finish.
EPSDT is the federal Medicaid benefit that covers all medically necessary services for children under 21.

For families across spread-out communities, getting to a center multiple days a week isn’t always practical. Our in-home program brings skilled behavior technicians directly to your door in Greensboro, High Point, Winston-Salem, Burlington, Thomasville, Kernersville, Asheboro, and surrounding areas, so therapy fits into your family’s life instead of the other way around.
Your assigned BCBA supervises all in-home sessions and works closely with your family to align therapy goals with daily routines. From morning transitions to bedtime strategies, in-home therapy addresses the real challenges families face and builds skills that transfer directly to school, community outings, and social interactions.
